Training to strengthen the team – a new experience and expansion of knowledge
In the month of July continues association „Balta Maja” implement project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” (project contract number: 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/152) activities. The project provides a regular and significant support of Association main activity and a variety of additional activities. The project supported by EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 period Programme „NGO fund” in subprogram “NGO Activity Support Measure”.
The event of the month was trainings to strengthen the Association team. Trainings lasted from 13 to 15 July and took place in guest house/center „Ezerkrasti”. The training led by Rinalds Rudzitis. He was a team training developer and manager; he successfully combined theory with practice and offered interactive tasks.
During the training participants worked in groups. Groups were different for both small and large. In groups was made practical and strategic cooperation tasks, with the aim of making jointly decisions and cooperate in making operations with common goal. The methodology was based on the “educational experience” principle and educated participants through personal experience – through its successes and mistakes. Most of the educational training took place in nature – outdoors.
All three training days in a logical and complementary sequence alternated presentations, tests, assignments – both individually and in groups. The first day was devoted to the development of internal communication in which each participants evaluated their communication skills and examined it’s in tasks. Training participants will remember most vividly task with tennis balls that rolled and rolled back into the ground…
The second day was devoted to training cooperation. On this day there were several tasks related to decision-making. In one of the task participant alone blindfolded go over the “mine” field in another – all together espousing to the “snake skin”. Very exciting was task in which participants formed in small teams and make thematic scenes – they must invented scenario and became an actor.
On the third day continued the learning of theory from the presentations and the training manager were asked to perform new challenges. Evaluating measures participants rated as very valuable individual conversation sessions in which participants were able to discuss issues of mutual communication.
Together spend days passed intensely and very interesting – in the end of the trainings recognized all participants – association “Balta Maja” staff members and volunteers. Thank to our trainer Rinalds who selected training methods and prompted as to support, to hear and to understand each other more.
Soon, in July 19 we will check the acquired knowledge in practice – in Livanu city festival. In city festival Association staff members offer a variety of activities and with supporters and friends go to festive procession. We wish the beautiful Livanu city festival day!
