MOVEMENT SPRING IN ASSOCIATION „BALTA MAJA”
Project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” (project contract number: 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/152) implementation continues. The project implementation provides support of Association core and a variety of activities. The project supported by EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 period Programme „NGO fund” in subprogram “NGO Activity Support Measure”.
All Association introduced activities consistent with the objective project purpose – providing the society with necessary social services and introduction different measures to promote society knowledge and motivates active participation. Traditionally as priority of the May beginning for Livanu society becomes gardening, but nevertheless the regular ongoing activities in „Balta Maja” will continue with bushy participants.
In May there was sport events in the Livanu city and in these events took part association representatives. Day-care center staff and customers took part in the sporting event “May relay” and active seniors attended the opening the tourist season and the Museum Night events. Many visitors took part in multifunctional Library Day activities – including the conference.Association active visitors also are very active in visiting the county cultural events.
Society staff is very delighted to have gained the support of three submitted projects. These project supports will provide a variety of creative activities and promote inter-generational cohesion of the population. These projects are supported by the “Soros Foundation Latvia”, “Livanu county council Small Grants Competition” and Foundation „Viduslatgales Parnovadu Fonds”. Hopefully the same bustling will be month of June, when there will be creative workshops and community day „Būt kopā” in Jersika.
16th June take place project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” informative measure. In this measure where talking about the possibilities for NGOs at European level and about these possibilities will tell Andris Gobins – the association “European Movement in Latvian” President and the member of European Economic and Social Committee. This event will also include a new Association booklet/Livanu NGO catalog presentation. This informative catalog developed by the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Latvian financial support.
We are joined the Latvian folk proverb “spring is beautiful with flowers, autumn – with the grain”; we wish expect a good harvest, but also find the time to come to the “Balta maja”.
