Association „Balta maja”

October – great deluge of activities.
In the month of October continues association „Balta Maja” implement project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” (project contract number: 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/152) activities. The project provides a regular and significant support of Association main activity and a variety of additional activities. The project supported by EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 period Programme „NGO fund” in subprogram “NGO Activity Support Measure”.
Association visitors meeting time continue in October. It offers activities suitable for each. Regularly held meetings for seniors and people with disabilities, actively takes gymnastics and creative craft-work sessions, also are organized Association activists, staff and volunteers meetings.
Month began with a Seniors’ day celebration in 3 October. First all the participants – seniors from Līvānu County –welcomed Līvānu Council and Rožupes administration representatives. This was followed by singings and attractions together with celebration event driver Anita Gavare. In the end all participants delighted Association theater group “Eliksīrs” (Elixir) latest performance “Aklais randiņš” (Blind date).
Representative Association staff experience was in Ventspils non-governmental organizations. Two day fact-finding trip was one of the project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” activities. In Ventspils we are met with seniors association “Liedags” (Seashore) active participants, of whom learned a lot of new initiatives that will help us work with over seniors in Latgale. This trip was also good information about successful dones of other Ventspils NGOs.
In this month occurred a number of this project planned information measures. In 10 October held an informative measure for Līvānu county NGOs. This measure expert Ausma Pastore shared their knowledge of the good work of NGOs examples in Latvian, talked about the non-governmental sector trends and presented their observations and examples of public participation in Moldova.
In October 31 was organized the Līvānu NGO year event, which was attended by association “Loesje – Latvia” text writing inter-active measure and NGO expert Irina Kulitānes reflections about development and future trends of social processes in Latvia. Both measures were creative and participants actively involved in the proposed tasks.
Prolific was our month of October. In addition to all this, there was a Community Day event in Rožupes elementary school, which supported the Sorosa fonds (Soros Foundation). Thanks to the cooperation with the Foundation “Ziedot” (Donate), in 23 October Associations active volunteers had the opportunity to visit the Art Theatre show in Riga. About this trip we thank its sponsor – A/S Olainfarm. Our own – Līvānu municipality – pleased our most active seniors with trip to Riga – he visited a new Light Castle.
In 29 October association “Balta Maja” director Inguna Badune are presenting Association activities and project progres to associattion “Lauku partnerība Sēlija” (Rural Partnership Sēlija) participants in Salas parish recreation center.
Society staff and activists are pleased that our introduced measures are well attended and attract new active persons who in first time lock our doors.
