Continues the Project’s “Support for Association’s “Balta maja” Work in Strengthening Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” Support for the Capacity Building of the Association
During the period of year 2015 continues the project’s “Support for Association’s “Balta maja” Work in Strengthening Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” (project’s contract No.: 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/152) implementation. The project was undertaken in July 2013 and will continue until 31 December 2015. The project implementation provides regular support to the association and strengthens the knowledge of its staff. The project is supported by the European Economic area financial mechanism 2009–2014 period program’s “NVO fond” sub-program “Operating aid programme for NGOs”.
In the work program of year 2015 it is intended to continue providing already existing social services and ensure regularly ongoing activity – interest groups and clubs – meetings.
Attention will be paid to the activities of active citizenship, participation, and the promotion of self-education and volunteering. Awareness raising events will take place in Livani NGO, and consultancy regarding NGO issues will be provided. It is intended to continue the development of cooperation with other NGOs in Livani municipality as well as in Latgale region and the member organizations of senior network “Dzivotprieks”. Training in team building skills and an experience exchange trip to Tallinn (Estonia) will be organized with the aim to increase the capacity of organization’s members and staff. On a regular basis the project’s information and publicity measures will be introduced. The society’s website www.baltamaja.lv created section will be regularly updated. An informative overview of the society’s work in 18 years will be prepared.
Traditionally, an informative calendar of 2016 will be created.
Association’s “Balta maja” busy days continue. The 1st floor visitors of the association are increasingly using the available social services. Enthusiasts of remedial gymnastics exercise regularly and there meet seniors. Our handicraft enthusiasts still have new ideas; members of several interest clubs always have something to talk about.
At the beginning of February – 05/02, we will invite the interested people to a meeting with a physiotherapist Janis Sondors. Then, on the eve of Valentine’s Day -13/02 we will meet at the event where we will let poetry, dance and music charm us. In the near future we also plan to organize an informative event for NGO activists, as there are so many interesting things to learn or discuss with like-minded people.
Hopefully, this year for the association “Balta maja” will be successful, and that thanks to our staff and together with volunteers it will be interesting and supportive of the residents and organizations of our municipality and region.
