Association „Balta maja”

The old year of association “Balta maja” concluded – information measure, the New Year calendar presentation and charity campaign.
Informative event which was dedicated to Livani NGOs was held on 11 December. The event was hosted by Valija Vaivode – she is society „Preili District Partnership” (Preiļu rajona partnerība) local action group head and foundation „Fund of Viduslatgales county” (Viduslatgales pārnovadu fonds) board member. The informative measure was a part of association “Balta maja” implement project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” (project contract number: 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/152) activities. In this informative measure has been provided full information about the society „Preili District Partnership” (Preiļu rajona partnerība) many years of work that focuses on the quality of rural life and rural people’s ability to progress. Measure driver Valija Vaivode all information was illustrated with examples of successful implementation of projects. Participants were encouraged to think and take advantage of new opportunities offered by the LEADER program in the end of next year.
Sincere and inspiring was Valijas Vaivodes story about „Fund of Viduslatgales county” (Viduslatgales pārnovadu fonds) staff and volunteers work for people in Latgale. These were examples of charity shares, scholarship programs and support for “prayer breakfasts”. In very short term fund activity and attract funding for the support given support for many different age people. Valija Vaivode acknowledged that local communities are responsive and local businesses shall not be refused if the fund request is justified and actually does provide benefits.
In the end of the measure project manager Inguna Badune presented the New Year calendar. This calendar was made like an information sheet that reflects association “Balta Maja” all old year activities, and based on the fundamental values of the organization: FRIEND, TO BE TOGETHER, IDEAS, CREATIVITY, INTEGRATION, INTERACTION, CELEBRATION, TEAM, PLANS, EXPERIENCE, GROWTH AND CHARITY.
17 December was organized the Christmas promotions measure for Livanu care center “Rozlejas” (in Rožupes parish). In 18 December this event took place in a Livanu hospital. The Christmas promotions measure participants like a Christmas present gave social care clients the same fashioned Felted wool elves and Christmas tree decorations. These gifts were made associations “Balta maja” handicraft group and people with special needs.
This year for the association “Balta Maja” was active and successful. Significant support for organization work and growth has made the project “Support for the Activity of the association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” and support will be received in the next – new 2015 year.
