Society employees, members and volunteers have new experience in Valmiera district
Project „Support for the Activity of the Association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” introduction provides support for the Association everyday needs and activities provision. The objective of the work programme is to strengthen the sustainability and capacity of the association „Balta Maja” with the aim to promote the processes of participatory democracy in Latgale region in accordance with „NGO Fund” programme of EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.
Association fifteen representatives of the 17th October went on an exchange trip to Valmiera district. In Valmiera district we visited some organizations from which we were able to learn a lot. As a first step we go to Valmiera Regional Foundation, where we talk with Ansis Berzins – president of the Foundation. Then we visited social welfare organizations in Valmiera district. Very sincere was Gaidas Pevko story about Valmiera organizations – „Bērnu labdarības virtuve” (Charity Kitchen) and „Kristīgais želsirdības fonds” (Christian Charity Fund). Interesting was our next visit to the society „Attīstība. Virzība. Izaugsme” (Evolution. Progress. Growth) which is located in Valmiera district Zilaiskalns. Very uselful was meetings with „Vaidavas izglītības biedrības” (Education Society) leader.
The project ” Support for the Activity of the Association „Balta Maja” to Strengthen the Participatory Democracy in Latgale Region” implementation continue. In autumn months, increasing attention we paid to the interests of the group, club and theme events. We also prepare the charity event which in this year will be a theatrical staging.
